Biography

Kim joined NEFA in July 2015 as Program Manager for Creative City, to support artists in creating socially engaged public art that sparks public imagination and inspires community members to share in civic experiences in Boston. In September 2018, Kim was promoted to Program Director, Public Art, growing her portfolio to include overseeing all of NEFA’s Public Art grantmaking and strategic partnerships to support more just and equitable public artmaking in MA and the region. Prior to NEFA, Kim worked with Boston Public Schools’ Department of Food and Nutrition Services piloting a Farm to School Initiative to transform the school food system. Kim has a background in environmental justice and food systems change and is interested in the role of public artmaking in shifting public culture and creating social change. In 2014, Kim was selected to be a part of the Next City Vanguard, made up of 40 urban leaders under the age of 40 making positive impacts in cities across the U.S. Kim has a B.A. from Wheaton College and currently resides in Boston, MA.
