Made Here Film Festival

The Made Here Film Festival is a regional festival for filmmakers/key creative personnel (producers, directors, editors, DoPs) residing in New England and Québec, co-produced by VTIFF and Vermont Public. Please do not apply unless you live in this region. The festival provides a relaxed and friendly atmosphere to screen your films, meet other filmmakers, industry representatives and broadcasters in the region. All styles of films and lengths (above 2 minutes) are accepted. The regional location of filmmakers does not mean that the subject of the films needs to be regional.

The Vermont Arts Council's Artist Development Grants

These grants support artists at all stages of their careers. They can fund activities that enhance mastery of an artist’s craft or skills or that increase the viability of an artist's business. Funding may also support aspects of the creation of new work when the activity allows the grantee to accept a rare and important opportunity. The maximum grant award is $2,000. The grant is offered two times in the fiscal year. Applications are drawn randomly.

Arts Midwest and the NEA's Big Read

This national program offers organizations grants of up to $20,000 to run community-wide reading programs. This year’s Big Read centers around the theme America250. The 24 books available for programming celebrate America’s culture, history, and resilience through the eyes of its people.

The Carving Studio and Sculpture Center's Ice Carving Festival

The Carving Studio welcomes talented artists, sculptors and anyone interested in ice carving to participate in the first ever Ice Sculpture Stroll as part of Rutland Winterfest 2026. Come join the fun on their historic Vermont marble quarry campus and show the community your talents!

Villa Albertine's 2026 Étant donnés Program

Étant donnés aims to foster, promote, and support artistic creations through cultural institutions and artistic exchanges. Étant donnés is organized by Villa Albertine and Albertine Foundation with the exclusive sponsorship of the AXA Foundation for Human Progress, in partnership with Institut Français, the French Ministry of Culture and Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, and ADAGP. 

The program fosters the discovery of emerging talent while maintaining engagement with established artists, prioritizing solo exhibitions, productions, and new commissions. In 2026, the following grants are available:

  1. Creative grants for museums and nonprofit institutions for projects in the United States and France.
  2. Curatorial fellowships for American curators wishing to conduct research in France.

City of Boston Arts and Culture's Fine Arts Work Center Summer Workshop Scholarships

The Fine Arts Work Center (FAWC) in Provincetown is a leading residency program for emerging writers and artists, known for its fellowships and summer workshops. In partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture, FAWC is offering Boston’s emerging poets the opportunity to attend a summer workshop of their choice, expanding access to creative learning and supporting the next generation of Boston poets.

Film Study Center-LEF Foundation Fellowship

Through the Film Study Center-LEF Foundation Fellowship, one Boston-area nonfiction filmmaker per academic year receives a $15,000 grant (jointly funded by FSC at Harvard and LEF), access to FSC’s pool of production and post-production equipment, and the opportunity to participate in the Harvard FSC community through work-in-progress screenings, workshops, and other activities.

The City of Portland Public Art Committee's Call to Artists for New Commission at Portland Harbor Common Park

For this art commission, the PPAC seeks a work of art that honors, reflects, and celebrates Portland’s distinctive sense of place. Surrounded by water for millennia, Portland’s identity is deeply tied to its maritime heritage, connecting our present community to the past and future. Artists are encouraged to explore the intersection of water, land, and people, considering the past, present, and future in their submissions.

The PPAC preserves, restores, and enhances Portland’s public art collection, promoting the educational, cultural, economic, and general welfare of the city and its residents through art. The PPAC seeks to incorporate public art whenever possible to enhance City infrastructure projects. The commission includes artist design and fee, fabrication, transportation, installation or installation oversight, and any lighting specific to the artwork. The allocated budget for this project is up to $150,000. Artists are invited to submit materials in PDF format via email to publicart@portlandmaine.gov.

Arts Midwest's Shakespeare in American Communities

This national program supports nonprofit theaters through three grant opportunities. 

  • Schools (Grants of $15,000-$25,000): Supports Shakespeare-related performances and educational activities for middle and high school students.
  • Juvenile Justice (Grants of $15,000-$25,000): Brings Shakespeare-related theater experiences to juvenile justice facilities.
  • Apprenticeships (Grants of $20,000-$30,000): Provides paid apprenticeships for early-career theater professionals in administrative and technical roles. The programming that apprentices support does NOT have to be Shakespeare-related.

Application Deadlines:  A mandatory Intent to Apply is due January 29, 2026, with final applications due February 12, 2026

National Endowment for the Arts' Grants for Artists 

The NEA fund arts projects in the following disciplines: Arts Education, Challenge America, Dance, Design & Our Town, Folk & Traditional Arts, Literary Arts, Local Arts Agencies, Museums, Music, Opera, Our Town, Presenting & Multidisciplinary Works, Theater & Musical Theater, and Visual & Media Arts.

Submission Deadline: February 12 and July 9

The Watermill Center's 2026 International Summer Program

The International Summer Program is an exceptional residency that brings 20 artists together for four weeks at The Watermill Center. During the program, artists will develop installations and performances in a communal and experimental environment. The artists – from different fields, countries, and backgrounds – will share meals, exchange ideas, collaborate with one another, attend workshops, and participate in the daily life of the Center.

Castle of Our Skin's Call for Artistic Responses: The Great Migration and Other Forced Migrations

Castle of our Skins is thrilled to announce a Call for Artistic Responses connected to their upcoming performance And, Perhaps, To Bloom on May 3, 2026. Drawing inspiration from Richard Wright’s Black Boy — and his meditation on leaving, carrying home within you, and seeking a place to “perhaps… bloom” — we invite artists, writers, makers, and creatives to respond to his words and to the broader histories of the Great Migration and other forced migrations in the Black diaspora. They seek up to five (5) artistic responses in any medium — including visual art, installation, multimedia, projection/video, sculpture, or creative writing — that engage audiences through participation, interaction, or reflection.

Mid Atlantic Arts' USArtists International grant

USArtists International® supports in-person performances by artists from any state or territory in the U.S. at engagements at international festivals, global presenting arts markets, and other eligible engagements outside of the United States. The program funds individuals and ensembles across all performing arts practices and disciplines. Matching grants of up to $11,000 toward eligible travel expenses.

MASSCreative's RFPS to Perform and Exhibit at Creative Sector Day

MASSCreative seeks artists, cultural organizations, and creative businesses across disciplines to join us as featured exhibitors and performers during the 2026 Creative Sector Day at the State House on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. 

Creative Sector Day at the State House is an opportunity to celebrate the contributions that artists, creatives, sector leaders, and cultural organizations make in Massachusetts. Throughout the day, we will stage performances, displays, and demonstrations by members of the creative sector in the Great Hall and the Grand Staircase areas of the State House. Performances and displays will be open to the public from 1 - 3 PM and all selected participants will receive a $300 stipend for their work.

The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center's Artist in Residence Program

The Carving Studio & Sculpture Center (CSSC) Artist in Residence program brings sculptors from around the world to create new work at our historic campus. Residents become part of our vibrant artist community, sharing in the exchange of concepts, aesthetics and technical expertise.

Innovate Grants for Artists and Photographers

Innovate Grant awards (2) $1,800.00 grants each quarter, to one Visual Artist and one Photographer. In addition, (12) honorable mentions (6 in art and 6 in photo), will be featured on our website and join a growing community of vibrant and talented artists. Innovate Grant's commitment extends beyond the grant cycle by promoting the work of selected winners and honorable mentions into the future.

Ashfield's Lighted Boat Parade on Ashfield Lake

Ashfield's Lighted Boat Parade  is a celebration of art, culture, and our rural landscape meant to connect people at Ashfield Lake. After dusk, boats will complete a circuit on the water as an audience looks on. The parade will be free for spectators and all are welcome.

Applications are competitive. 12 selected projects will receive $1,000 each to create illuminated art installations for the parade.

Vilcek Foundation Grants

The Vilcek Foundation invites applications from mission-driven nonprofit organizations that have a specific focus on supporting immigrants in the arts, sciences, education, or through the provision of social services. Eligible U.S. nonprofit organizations are encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $20,000.

Application Deadline: April 30, 2026.

RISCA's Artist Open Studio Tour

Artist Open Studio Tour grants support marketing and administration for an artist-initiated open studio tour. The studio tour must consist of multiple artists within one studio building or several nearby buildings and be open to the public.
