APAP | NYC Conference, January 10-14, 2020

The Association of Performing Arts Professionals (APAP) conference in NYC is fast approaching, and NEFA staff will be attending, as usual. Be sure to stop at the booth or join us in any of the following events.

Womxn's Leadership Forum: Positioning Power

Thursday, 1.9.20, 10AM-5PM

This day-long gathering will ignite dialogue around the meaning of leadership for womxn—dissecting the mechanisms which allow the systems of patriarchy and white supremacy to operate, exploring gender and race and how they impact position and power, and uncovering the ways in which womxn can work to authentically support one another and collectively create a more equitable field.

NEFA's Theater Manager Meena Malik will be co-facilitating. 

Dance/USA Dance Forum

Friday, 1.10.19 | 9:00AM-noon | Hilton Trianon Ballroom

The annual Dance Forum brings together a wide variety of individuals working in the dance industry to connect with peers and discuss immediate, field-wide issues. Past topics have covered national trends in funding, the myths and realities of touring, success stories for inspiring audiences and presenting dance, and more recently, in 2019, dance advocacy, regional dance touring initiatives, and next-wave of dance leadership.

NEFA staff will join the annual Dance Forum along with South Arts for a panel with updates on our organizations’ grant making services for dance.

New England Presenters/Arts Presenters of Northern New England meeting

The New England Presenters (NEP) and Arts Presenters of Northern New England (APNNE) Meeting is for presenting organizations in the New England region and will provide an opportunity for presenters to discuss NEP/APNNE business. All presenters in New England are welcome, however only current NEP/APNNE Members will receive the post-event chart for block booking. NEFA’s Adrienne Petrillo, Daniela Jacobson, and Falyn Elhard will be present.
