Eligibility

The following are eligible to apply for the NTP Presenter Travel Grant:

  • Arts presenters and curatorial staff considering NTP projects are eligible to apply for travel support to see the project(s) they are considering.
  • NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients may invite others to apply for the purpose of promoting, publicizing, or otherwise advancing their NTP funded project.
  • NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients may apply for travel funds for themselves for the same purposes of promoting, publicizing, or otherwise advancing their NTP funded project.
    • Creation and Touring Grant recipients are limited to a total of 10 Presenter Travel Grants per NTP funded project for their own travel.

This could include, but is not limited to, travelling to meet potential presenters and curatorial staff, bringing in press or critics to review NTP funded work, or travel to conferences and convenings. Please contact NTP if you have any questions about eligibility.

Grants reimburse up to 70% of total expenses, including mileage, economy class transportation, meals, lodging, admission, and, where applicable, conference or showcase registration fees for up to 2 people. In general, grants range from $700-$1,000, with a funding maximum of $1,500.

 Please note that these caps apply for up to 2 people traveling within the contiguous United States: for applicants traveling to or from Alaska, Hawai’i, or any of the US Territories please contact NTP staff before beginning your application.

Additionally, all grantees may choose to submit itemized receipts for meals and incidental expenses, or to accept a flat rate per-diem, which varies in amount based on travel destination. Up-to-date per diem rates can be found at: https://www.gsa.gov/travel/plan-book/per-diem-rates.

Grantees are expected to complete a final report within one month of viewing the project. We strongly recommend that all grantees who are not also NTP Creation and Touring Grant recipients contact the artist(s) either before or when you attend the performance, to ensure the ability to complete this evaluation.

Applicant must be able to fulfill the Requirements & Reports for Grant Recipients if awarded.

Deadline 

Rolling Deadline: NTP Presenter Travel Grants are awarded on a rolling basis. Please note that while this is a rolling deadline, we encourage applicants to submit a minimum of 10 days in advance of travel. If your dates of travel have already passed but you otherwise meat eligibility, please contact staff. There is a 2-4 week turnaround for applications.

Application Instructions

All organizations are required to provide an IRS W-9 Form (see www.irs.gov for current version) and a  UEI (Unique Entity Identifier)  in the application.
