New York Live Arts will present the New York premiere of Okwui Okpokwasili's "Bronx Gothic" on October 21-24, 2015. "Bronx Gothic" integrates dance and theater in telling the coming of age story of two young girls in the Bronx. The piece creates a narrative through movement, song, and letters, where the central character, an urban griot, delivers a gothic tale through her charged brown body. Through her residency, Okpokwasili will engage New York Live Arts audiences, diverse communities and strategic partners around New York City.
