Portland Ovations

On November 7, 2026, Portland Ovations will present author Thomas Wolf’s narrative concert experience, TWIN KEYS: A LOVE STORY, at the University of Southern Maine’s (USM) Crewe Center for the Arts in Portland, ME. TWIN KEYS recounts the story of famed piano duo Pierre Luboshutz & Genia Nemenoff, from their early lives and musical training in Russia, to their subsequent emigration and career success in America. Wolf’s personal narration is accompanied by dozens of historical photographs and live performances of the pair’s most popular pieces, played by Boston-based pianists Michael and Jessica Chow Shinn. This program, merging the arts and humanities, aims to engage an intergenerational audience and highlight a unique slice of Jewish music history. Alongside the concert, Portland Ovations will be working with the USM Osher School of Music to host a piano masterclass with the Shinns and engage a scholar to design a community program with the Jewish Community Alliance of Southern Maine.
