Global Arts Live will present Southern Italian vocalist Maria Mazzotta, offering Boston audiences an opportunity to experience the distinctive vocal traditions and dialects of the Salento region. A contemporary interpreter of pizzica/taranta and Mediterranean-Balkan folk song, Mazzotta brings a modern, personal perspective to centuries-old cultural forms. The engagement will also include a pre-show conversation exploring the linguistic, musical, and cross-cultural influences that shape her work.
