<p>Sandglass Center for Puppetry and Theater Research, Putney, VT, will present Tanglewood Marionettes’ <em>The Fairy Circus </em>as part of its 2026 Winter Sunshine Series. Featuring more than twenty handcrafted marionettes, <em>The Fairy Circus </em>celebrates turn-of-the-century trick puppetry, a rarely seen art form in contemporary touring performance. The show blends intricate craftsmanship with classical music as marionettes juggle, transform, contort, and soar through the air.</p><p><br></p><p>The engagement will include two live performances accompanied by pre-show puppetry demonstrations and post-show Q&amp;A sessions, offering audiences an up-close look at the mechanics and artistry behind the work. A live online discussion for puppetry professionals will further extend the impact of the residency, supporting regional dialogue around sustainable touring practices. </p>
