Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center

<p>The Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center, Great Barrington, MA, working in collaboration with FirstWorks, Providence, RI; Colonial Theatre, Keene, NH; and Quick Center for the Arts, Fairfield, CT plans to bring Silkroad Ensemble to its historic theater for a concert followed by a talkback facilitated by a local music expert, focusing on the wide-ranging cultural influences of their music and the richness of their collaborative style. The performance at the Mahaiwe will be part of their American Railroad tour, inspired by the Indigenous, African American, Irish, Chinese, and Japanese workers who built the transcontinental railroad. </p>
