Created by choreographer Rosy Simas (enrolled Seneca Nation of Indians, Heron clan), A:gajë:gwah dësa’nigöëwë:nye:' (i hope it will stir your mind) is a Native contemporary dance work, installation, and community engagement series. Anchored in Simas' movement practice of deep listening to the earth, stars, ancestors, and each other, it draws the audience into a space of relationality. A:gajë:gwah dësa’nigöëwë:nye:' weaves a "mind of peace" into its every aspect—every movement, sound, image, and stitch of the set is imbued with a peacemaking state of being. Simas' abstract transdisciplinary universe rejects false dichotomies between the traditional and contemporary, sonic and somatic, visual and physical—even life and art.
