Junebug Productions

Location
New Orleans, LA
Project Title
Front Page: The Encore
Fiscal Year Awarded
2025

The Encore is a groundbreaking theatrical production that blends live music, dance cyphers, and multimedia elements, placing the audience at the center of the experience. More than a performance, The Encore is an immersive, multi-sensory celebration of Black musical traditions, particularly the evolution of R&B. Led by Junebug Productions, The Encore tells the story of FRONT PAGE, an early 1990s New Orleans R&B group—Michael Turner, Octarve Anderson, and Gregory Ringo—whose journey reflects the more significant cultural and industry shifts of the time. The production highlights the role of Black women in shaping R&B and reclaims space for Black narratives in the arts. The show will tour cities with strong ties to Black music— New Orleans, New York, and Detroit —connecting with communities that deeply resonate with its resilience, love, and affirmation themes.
