Puppet Showplace Theater

Puppet Showplace Theater will present "Jeghetto's Workshop," an interactive adventure by puppetry artist Tarish "Jeghetto" Pipkins, to family audiences in September, 2023. Pipkins is known for combining hip hop culture and multimedia performance in his puppet theater, and in this all-ages production, he takes the audience on a deep dive into the creative process of the self-taught puppet-maker and performer. He will demonstrate ingenious marionettes from his workshop, relate the ways of transforming recycled materials into characters and creatures, and even encourage the audience to try their hands at working with some of his creations. "Art is the only way to make change in the world," he says, and this art promotes change that is inclusive, inviting, and inspiring.
