Project Title
School District - A Feature Documentary Film
Fiscal Year Awarded
2022
Grant or Program
New Work New England
Grant Amount
$15,000

Filmed fly-on-the-wall throughout the 2020-2021 academic year, School District plunges into Connecticut’s Stamford Public Schools observing what it takes to meet the diverse educational needs of 17,000+ students … under the most extreme circumstances. More than a documentary about pandemic education, School District testifies to Stamford’s ongoing work of desegregation (and peers toward the possibility of a truly integrated future). It is a poignant reminder of the fundamental role public education plays in our society that will contribute toward a more grounded and informed dialogue about America’s schools.
