Ephrat Asherie Dance (EAD) will perform two evening public performances of Odeon on the PS21 pavilion stage as well as offering a free community outreach program on Friday afternoon. Odeon, an original dance work for 7 dancers and 4 musicians, is set to the music of Brazilian composer Ernesto Nazareth. Mixing early 20th century romantic music with samba and other popular Afro-Brazilian rhythms, this work delves into what happens when you bring together the extended family of street and club dances–including breaking, hip hop, house and vogue.
