(Boston, MA) The New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) is pleased to announce that Emma Sheridan has joined the organization as grants coordinator and co-accessibility coordinator.
In this role, Emma partners with the New England Presenting and Touring team and the Technology and Data team to support NEFA’s portfolio of regional grant programs, assist regional constituents, and work with staff to execute events and initiatives. The grants coordinator is a key contributor in promoting, evaluating, and enhancing NEFA’s commitments to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in program and grantmaking practices.
Emma has several years of experience in nonprofit grant administration, program management, and customer service, with a strong focus on advancing equity and accessibility. Most recently, she worked as a program coordinator for Preserve Rhode Island, where she helped to expand their grantmaking while streamlining processes for applicants and grantees. Prior roles honed her operations, project management, and advocacy skills. Emma holds a B.A. in Communications and History from the University of Rhode Island.
“Emma brings passion, knowledge, and key experience in the cultural sector. Her focus on constituent service through building strong relationships and streamlining processes will be an asset to our programs. We are so excited to have Emma on board,” said Audrey Seraphin, program manager, Regional Grants and Initiatives.
The New England Foundation for the Arts invests in artists and communities, fostering equitable access to the arts and enriching the cultural landscape in New England and across the United States. Founded in 1976, NEFA has grown into a vital national and international leader, advancing opportunities for artists and strengthening the arts infrastructure through grantmaking, partnerships, convenings, and knowledge sharing.
NEFA’s work is made possible through generous support from the National Endowment for the Arts, the six New England state arts agencies, private foundations, corporations, and individual donors. As NEFA approaches its 50th anniversary in 2026, it continues to lead with creativity, resilience, and vision, affirming the vital role of the arts in civic life and advancing a cultural landscape where all people have equitable access to artistic expression. www.nefa.org.
