West Claremont Center for Music and the Arts will present Balla Kouyaté (Mali) and Mamadou Diabaté’s (Burkina Faso), two powerhouse African balafon family legacies. Through this project, they will perform together, making the impossible possible. Their two differently tuned balafons from different regions of Africa have never been played together before. They will perform a concert, school residencies, and workshops as part of this project.
