<p>Sunny Jain&#39;s Wild Wild East is a suite of intercultural compositions of Indian folk and processional music, jazz and rock through the lens of his experience as a second-generation Indian American artist with roots in two cultures, languages, nations and worldviews. Specifically, Jain transforms the American cowboy trope, expanding beyond its traditional mythology as the icon of American expansionism and Manifest Destiny in the wild west frontier to a contemporary figure of Asian American immigrant communities who are exploring the frontier of modern-day USA -- musically, culturally, artistically, economically, and spiritually. Each song is like peering through a window into this experience from a different angle, tone, or style. We will also present a public artist talk/engagement event with Sunny Jain and offer a student class visit or master class.</p>
