Invisible Rivers is a project that utilizes the creative practices of music, digital storytelling, theater, cultural organizing, curriculum development and boat-building to respond to Southeast Louisiana?s interconnected struggles against coastal land loss, environmental racism and displacement. Invisible Rivers conducts one-week residencies in each touring location, listening to local residents speak about their unique relationships to the bodies of water where they live. Each residency features facilitated engagement activities including story circles, public meals and community-based planning with diverse partners across sectors and issue areas. Each residency culminates with a weekend of site-responsive performances from members of the Invisible Rivers team.
