Ryan P. Casey

Video and photo documentation of a new touring show, "Unbound," from acclaimed dancer/choreographer Ryan P. Casey and his new ensemble, Off Beat. in "Unbound" classic literary characters and tropes leap from the page to the stage in an original evening of tap dance. From fairy tales to Shakespeare, western novels to comics, this rhythmic reimagining of beloved books and poems follows a high school student who begrudgingly tackles his summer reading list – and exercises his overactive imagination. Documentation will be used for future presentation and funding opportunities. The piece will also be showcased at the 2017 Association of Performing Arts Presenters.
