The purpose of this trip is to culminate Paloma McGregor/Angela’s Pulse residency with VCUarts Dance + Choreography, where she has been developing a new, community-specific iteration of Building a Better Fishtrap / A’we deh ya (All of Us Are Here) with collaborators Christine King, Kayla Hamilton, and Nina Angela Mercer. Together they will return to VCU for two weeks to continue their process of listening, learning, and creating alongside Richmond Cultural Bearers, Community Leaders, and VCU students. On April 16, they culminate a final week of residency in creative process with an evening of performance and dialogue, exploring what it takes to nourish and sustain a healthy community.
