Urban Bush Women's Founding Artistic Director, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, conceived of “Walking with ‘Trane” as a suite of works based on the life & work of jazz pioneer John Coltrane. “Walking with ‘Trane, Chapter 2” is a new music & movement journey inspired by Coltrane's “A Love Supreme.” Urban Bush Women is partnering with George Caldwell, one of modern jazz's current pre-eminent players, to innovate and create new music around one of jazz music's greatest innovators. The “A Love Supreme” poem is inspiration.
