Next Stage Arts Project

Next Stage Arts will present Subject Matter, a Boston-based modern tap dance company, as part of the organization’s outdoor Bandwagon Summer Series. The Bandwagon Summer Series highlights cultural and creative diversity, and allows the organization to bring in larger scale artists that otherwise wouldn’t make it to Southern Vermont. The dance company will be returning to Next Stage for a second year of performance following a successful Bandwagon show in 2021. Subject Matter creates tap dance works with a three piece Jazz band, bringing in modern rhythms to re-frame the dance style from a 21st century lens. This is a special opportunity for Next Stage, one of the only performance venues in the region to present dance, to bring a professional tap dance company to rural Windham County. Many local community members don’t often get the chance to experience dance performance, which makes this performance valuable as a way to expand cultural horizons for the region.
