As Curator and Co-Producer of Instigation Festival, I am seeking support to travel to the Bates Dance Festival to experience Space Carcasses by Onye Ozuzu. This powerful work blends movement, installation, and sound to explore the presence and memory of Black bodies in architectural and public space. Onye, a past Instigation Festival artist, continues to inspire the festival's evolving vision. As the festival continues to expand and include commissioned and new works, we are exploring the possibility of presenting Space Carcasses in a future season. This would be my first time attending Bates, and I believe the experience will meaningfully contribute to furthering my access to current contemporary touring works, which is essential to my curatorial practice. My presence at Bates is vital for deepening this curatorial relationship and advancing our mission to support innovative, interdisciplinary performance.
