The Maine Celtic Celebration is a family oriented celebration of the rich Celtic heritage, culture, and hospitality found along the Maine coast. The Celebration will be July 21 - 23 and features Celtic inspired music, dancing, workshops, games, an artisan village, craft vendors, and food. Performers also teach workshops on their instruments or traditional songs. Other weekend events include a 5K Road Race, Celtic breed dog show, cheese roll races, and Scottish heavy games. Admission to the MCC is free, but a $15 donation is suggested. The MCC is organized and run totally by volunteers. It has won awards as the Best Community Event or Best Fair/Festival for the past several years.
Stanley and Grimm are a Celtic duo who perform old and new interpretations of traditional jigs, reels, and songs played with lively fiddle, guitar, and voice. They will perform twice during the weekend, as well as offer a workshop specifically designed to engage the audience in participatory activity.
