Layalaya Arts Initiative

Layalaya Arts Initiative will present cellist, composer, and educator Michael Block in a four-day residency in eastern Connecticut that integrates performance, education, and collaborative creation. The residency will include the development of new work with a seven-member ensemble, student workshops and mentoring sessions with Woodstock Academy and Pomfret School, open rehearsals, and a public performance. Through these engagements, students and community members will gain insight into the creative process and the evolving role of the cello across musical traditions.
