Project Title
I hunger for you
Fiscal Year Awarded
2018
Grant or Program
National Dance Project Production Grant
Grant Amount
$45,000

Suspended in a stark yet mesmerizing world defined by light and its absence, I hunger for you creates a space where internalized forces of faith pulse through dancers’ bodies which restlessly, tenderly, and violently confront one another. Emanating from choreographer Kimberly Bartosik’s (an alum of Merce Cunningham Dance Company) personal experience with Charismatic spirituality, the evening-length work delves deeply into the heart of losing one's self in ecstasy, ritual, and desire, riding an edge of barely controlled abandon and vibrating stillness. Estimated artist fee: $13,000/performance + travel and accommodations; $18,000/week + traveland accommodations
