Arts & Ideas Festival will present Debo Band free on the New Haven Green as the finale of our 18th annual event, making it possible for a large, diverse audience to experience the Ethiopian-based, world fusion music of this excellent band from Boston. Danny Mekonnen, leader of Debo Band, will join with other Festival artists in a panel on cross-cultural creativity in the Festival's Ideas Program. The impact of the performance will be enhanced by the addition of Fendika, traditional Ethiopian dancers.
