American Railroad by Silkroad Ensemble is a multi-faceted performance that explores the contributions of immigrant and Indigenous communities to the creation of the U.S. Transcontinental Railroad. Led by Wu Man, a master of the pipa, the ensemble blends traditional Chinese instruments with Black, Irish, and Indigenous musical forms to tell untold stories of America's cultural identity. The performance will be presented in Keene at The Colonial Theatre, alongside community activities including pre-show panels, school workshops, and post-show discussions.
