BASETRACK offers a multimedia performance on the uncertainties and separations of war using photos and videos by journalists embedded with Marines in Afghanistan and incorporates a live musical score and spoken word text from the Marines stationed in a theatre of war and their families at home. Designed to raise public awareness of the impact of war upon recent service members, this project encourages a complicated but necessary discussion that recognizes and respects the role of our military, but looks unflinchingly at the legacy of war.
