Ballet Hispánico will continue its legacy of reclaiming and retelling the stories of the Latinx world by commissioning a new full-length work by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa based on the life of Evita Peron. The work will present episodes in Peron’s life that led to her becoming a powerful icon of the Argentinian people. A nonlinear series of “snapshots” will capture the essence of Evita’s strength, struggle, and emergence as a leader and change agent. The work will premiere in spring 2022 and be included in a national and international tour.

Estimated Artist Fee: $15,000/performance; $22,000/week.
