Ballet Bloom Project

<p><span style="font-size: 14px;">Rose Hutchins’s contemporary ballet The Little Mermaid, with an original score by Evan Hart Marsh, premiered in 2024 at The Hill Arts in Portland, Maine, to an enthusiastic response. Hutchins seeks funding to restage the ballet on a larger scale, with this proposal focused on partially funding updates to the music: remastered recordings for high-quality sound by Grammy Award–winning engineer Karl Wingate, and a narrated rendition of the score, abbreviated by Marsh to engage younger audiences. Both full-length and narrated productions are planned for August 2026 at Biddeford City Theater, with future touring across New England and beyond to expand access to dance and classic literature.</span></p>
