Christian Warner

Inspired by the speculative worlds of black sci-fi media, WE GATHER HERE is a dance-theater work and community activation initiative centered on the intimate spaces where people retreat to confide, rehabilitate, ground, and re-strategize. The work imagines a network of “eternals,” reuniting for a “family reunion” that trace expressions of Black American tradition across generations despite conditions of indifference and erasure. Through facilitated discussion, the Town Hall Series accompanies the performance to offer a community engagement that invites artists, cultural workers, and neighbors into facilitated conversations around sustainability, artistic labor, collective care, and the future of creative communities.
