Limón Dance Company & Akram Khan

In celebration of Limón Dance Company’s 80th Anniversary season, it is undertaking its largest commission to date: a reimagining of José Limón’s The Moor’s Pavane by Akram Khan. Distilled from centuries-old stories, the piece will explore the ever timely themes of race, power, and jealousy in the context of Limón’s and Khan’s parallel experiences as immigrants and artists, bridging conversations across time, generations, and continents. This one-act work will include an original score by Aditya Prakash, new lighting design by Zeynep Kepekli, and new costume design by Reid & Harriet.

Single performance $40,000, plus housing and local travel.

Weekly rate $65,000, plus housing and local travel.
