Kori Thomas; Quest Nine will participate in an international public art internship in Akumal, Mexico in February 2026 under the mentorship of Joe Schipani, partner and co-founder of the Flint Public Art Project and the Akumal Mural Festival, and author of Building Stronger Communities Through Art, Creating a Community Mural Festival, and Gathering on Purpose. During this two-week immersive learning experience, Quest Nine will study community-driven mural festival models, public art project management, and creative placemaking strategies. The program will culminate in the creation of a collaborative mural alongside international muralists while engaging directly with the local community.
