NEFA recently joined two distinct crowfunding platforms to further support grantees and participants’ efforts. Why two sites? Though they are both focused on crowdfunding, they operate on different models, and each has advantages depending on your needs - be sure to ask lots of questions and review policies.

Through Hatchfund, a nonprofit, crowdfunding site dedicated to supporting artists, you may affiliate your profile with NEFA directly; simply select NEFA on the partner affiliate drop-down when you enroll. If you have already enrolled, contact your program officer to add the affiliation. Get started here.

For those using Kickstarter, an independent company whose mission is to help bring creative projects to life, please contact me if you would like be included on NEFA’s Curated Page

Hatchfund provides 1-on-1 guidance, training and support throughout your fundraising campaign with a dedicated program officer; tax-deductibility for every donor, meaning larger donations on average ($124) for your project; and Hatchfund has a 75% success rate, with almost 5 million dollars raised as of August 2013.

Kickstarter is a funding platform for creative projects. Everything from films, games, and music to art, design, and technology. Kickstarter is full of ambitious, innovative, and imaginative projects that are brought to life through the direct support of others.
