Drawing on food, memory, and migration, three women rooted in Tap, Flamenco, and Kathak inherit language across immigrant lineages and frame the body as archive and rhythm. The Kitchen is a joyous, full-evening dance and music performance by Soles of Duende: a call-and-response unfolding alongside folk-infused gatherings of women; duet traditions expanding into trio architectures; and a rice box becoming a vessel for reflection, memory, and exchange. With a three-piece live band and through distinct dance and music legacies, we honor the mothers who crossed vast oceans, carrying traditions that continue to live within our musical recipes.
