Brownbody

Infinite Slow Drive | Obsidians in the Wild is a multi-sensory, multi-site, and interdisciplinary dance experience performed on ice or stage. The work is an ode to and inspired by Tallahassee, Florida's “in the cut” hubs of Black creative innovation such as slow stroll culture, adorned processionals, custom car culture, and Black girl dancing schools. Infinite Slow Drive is choreographed, designed, and directed by Lela Aisha Jones and commissioned by Brownbody, a performance ensemble and education organization that blends dance, theater, social justice, and figure skating to affirm the complexity, vibrancy, majesty, and resilience of U.S.-based Black communities.
