Brian Golden

Snap Clap Flush is a live object-based dance theater performance that began with sketches, poems, plungers, and a dream. Set to live music, the work is devised through task-based movement, found objects, collage, and humor, using play and unpredictability to create a world that moves between the familiar and the absurd. At its center, the work investigates what we hide, what we choose to reveal.

Centering his experience with neurodivergence, dyspraxia, and auditory processing disorder, Golden and his collaborators use improvisational scores to explore coordination, rhythm, communication, and different ways of processing the world. Humor and childlike playfulness exist alongside moments of discomfort and darkness, while repetition shifts between endurance, expectation, disruption, and meaning.
