Bates Dance Festival will present an excerpt of IzumonookunI a new mixed media dance piece by Aretha Aoki with sound design by Ryan MacDonald in the 2022 Festival. The piece will be part of a split evening with another artist. Both pieces have very specific relationships to sound and composition. Aretha will participate in the festival for the week of her performance and will present an artist talk about this work.
