Invisible: Imprints from Racism is a mixed genre piece combining modern and hip hop dancers from Boston’s inner city with three of Boston’s emerging spoken word poets. Choreographer/director Anna Myer and playwright Jay Paris explore the emotions of racism in urban America, touching upon issues of anger, fear, victimization, and privilege, as well as vulnerability, empathy, and what we all share in common. The performances precede a short piece by Boston teens who have participated in workshops led by Anna Myer and dancers. Both pieces are designed to play for audiences in public spaces that rarely receive the performing arts.
