float. is a multi-phase choreographic project by Marjani Forté-Saunders, produced by 7NMS, that unfolds across durational, ensemble, and technologically expanded forms, attending to Body, Mind, and Will as a meditation on the Wondrous. Rooted in the Zen Buddhist concept of Clouds and Water, the work considers change as constant*, and asks how one moves through disruption and grief by- changing form. Emerging from Forté-Saunders’s lived experience with Multiple Sclerosis, float. bridges science, spirit, and art, integrating scientific imagery with the surreal and embodied imaginative crafts of performance and sound. From an intimate durational performance happening for transient audiences, to an ensemble portrait, and finally surreal performance with lift and suspension, float. offers a sonic and kinetic meditation on pleasure, resilience, and the wondrous intelligence of the body.
