NEFA’s grant programs and services reflect the creativity and breadth of the artistic endeavors we support. Whether in the performing arts, Native arts, or public art, our grant programs provide artists with funding and other resources necessary for creating and presenting successful work. Individual grants range in focus from production and touring to professional development and networking. Guidelines, funding criteria, and deadlines are thoughtfully structured to ensure that the funding generates positive, tangible outcomes.
NEFA’s non-grantmaking services aim to strengthen systems of support for the creative sector through commissioned and program-based research, online tools, and a practice of convening and knowledge sharing.
NEFA’s online resources include: MatchBook.org and CultureCount. MatchBook.org contains an extensive database of New England performing artists and venues that helps presenters, event planners, and other individuals find artists, browse digital work samples, and schedule bookings. CultureCount is an online information warehouse for New England’s creative economy. Artists, cultural nonprofits, businesses, and policymakers use CultureCount to access research data related to the creative sector’s financial stake in New England cities and towns.
