Public Transportation

MBTA Subway (or "T")

The office is approximately two blocks from the Tufts Medical Center stop on the MBTA's Orange line, and Broadway Station (Red line) is a ten minute walk. Back Bay Station (Orange line) and South Station (Red line) are within a mile from the office, or a 15-20 minute walk. Visit MBTA's Trip Planner to map your best route.

Bus

The 9, 11, 15, SL4, and SL5 MBTA bus lines make stops on Washington Street and/or Herald Street, all within a block of 321 Harrison Ave. Please visit MBTA's Trip Planner for more information.

MBTA Commuter Rail

Take the commuter rail to South Station or Back Bay if you are traveling from outside of Boston. Use MBTA's Trip Planner to arrange your trip into Boston.

Amtrak

Take the Amtrak train If you are traveling beyond the MBTA lines. 

A&A Metro Transportation Shuttle, South Station

Shuttle labeled "1000 Washington" will take you to our office. The shuttle runs from 6:45am-10:15am and from 3:15pm-6:30pm. Download the “A&A Metro” app and search for “1000 Washington” to track it in real time.

From the South

  1. For GPS, enter 321 Harrison Avenue for directions to the parking garage.
  2. Take 93N to Boston
  3. Take exit 18 for Frontage Rd toward Mass Ave/Roxbury
  4. Merge onto I-93 Frontage Rd
  5. Turn left onto W 4th St
  6. Continue onto E Berkeley St
  7. Turn right onto Harrison Ave
  8. You can access the lobby directly from the parking garage

From the North

  1. For GPS, enter Harrison Avenue for directions to the parking garage.
  2. Take I-93 S toward Boston
  3. Take exit 20B for Interstate 90 W
  4. Continue toward Albany St
  5. Keep left at the fork and merge onto Albany St
  6. Turn right onto Traveler St
  7. Turn right onto Harrison Ave
  8. You can access the lobby directly from the parking garage

From the West

  1. For GPS, enter 321 Harrison Avenue for directions to the parking garage.
  2. Take I-90 E (Mass Pike - Partial toll road) to Boston
  3. Take exit 22 toward Copley Square
  4. Merge onto Stuart St
  5. Turn right onto Clarendon St
  6. Turn left onto Tremont St
  7. Take the 1st right onto Waltham St
  8. Turn left onto Harrison Ave
  9. You can access the lobby directly from the parking garage

There are a number of parking options for visitors.

Onsite Parking

The 321 Harrison Ave/1000 Washington Street complex includes a privately managed garage. This garage is accessible from entrances on Harrison Ave. There is an entrance to the building from the parking facility. 

Handicapped parking is available for visitors with HP placards. Please see the garage parking attendant for assistance.

Nearby Private Lots & Garages

Parking is also available through privately operated and owned facilities, garages, and lots near the building. Options include:

  • 60 E. Berkley Street Parking Lot
  • 460 Harrison Ave Parking Lot
  • 530 Harrison Ave Parking Lot
  • 375 Harrison Avenue Parking Lot (accessible via Traveler Street)

Street Parking

Although most street parking is limited to residents with city issued residential parking stickers, there are a number of metered spots in the immediate vicinity of the building. Washington Street and Harrison Avenue may provide the most options for metered parking.

Drop off/Unloading

You may drop-off/unload in the metered parking spaces in front of 321 Harrison Ave.

Accessibility Info

Building details:

  • The 321 Harrison/1000 Washington complex has entrances on both roads.
  • Each entrance has a double door vestibule with power operated doors.
  • The complex lobby includes two banks of elevators, one each to access 321 Harrison Ave and 1000 Washington Street.
  • Elevators are wheelchair accessible and can accommodate at least three to four wheelchairs at a time.
  • NEFA’s offices are located on the fourth floor of 321 Harrison Ave.
  • Coming off the elevator, locate suite 420. There is a doorbell you can ring for entry.

Accessible Restroom:

  • There is a wheelchair accessible, all-gender restroom on the second floor, which can be accessed by passing through the rear door in the NEFA suite. The restroom is located about 30 feet down the hallway to the right.
