Biography

Brooke Horejsi, Assistant Dean for Art & Creative Engagement and Executive Director of UtahPresents in Salt Lake City, has more than 20 years of experience in the field of creativity.  In her role at the University of Utah, Horejsi oversees a non-profit, campus-based arts presenter, and is a member of the leadership team in the College of Fine Arts.  Her work focuses on embedding the arts and creativity broadly across campus and the region. Prior to her post at the University of Utah, Brooke served as the Deputy Director of Fine Arts Programming at the College of Saint Benedict/Saint John’s University and the Director of Booking for VEE Corporation, a producer of touring family entertainment, both located in Minnesota.  Additionally, she has worked as the general manager of the Oregon Contemporary Theater in Eugene, OR and also has varied experience in theatrical touring, design, and production.

Horejsi has Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Spanish, English, and Theater from the University of Minnesota, and received her Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration from the University of Oregon. Additionally, she serves as adjunct faculty and has a variety of grant panel, project advising, and board service experiences.  Brooke almost never pronounces her last name with linguistic accuracy, but does manage to spell it correctly 98% of the time.  She is relieved that the responsibility of teaching it to her two boys, Jack and Kolya, falls to her partner, Michael, who is far better at making all the right sounds in all the right places.
