In addition to the narrative questions below, the New England States Touring application will require details on the applicant, the project, and a budget.

NEST 1 and 2 Narrative Questions

  1. Why is your organization presenting this artist? Please include how this engagement supports your organization’s programming goals and provides your local community with access to an excellent artistic and cultural experience. If you have previously presented this artist or a similar artistic engagement, please include how this engagement will deepen or expand upon prior efforts. (2,000 character limit)
  2. Who in your community will be reached by this engagement? What strategies and partnerships have you developed that will provide access, especially for those who may face barriers to participation in arts activities? Such barriers may exist for someone based on their age, class, disability, gender, geographic location, and economics. (2,000 character limit)
  3. What activities in addition to the main performance(s) are planned? How will these activities enhance understanding of the artist’s work? Please include any strategies to build cross-sector exchange (connecting arts and non-arts organizations) and collaboration. (2,000 character limit)
  4. How will this engagement support the artistic vision and career of the artist? Please include how the relationship between your organization and the artist has developed or evolved. (2,000 character limit)
  5. NEST 2: What collaborative planning has occurred among the tour partners that will  deepen the experience for the artist, partner organizations, and your community? How has the featured artist/ensemble been involved in tour planning? Please identify the other New England organization participating as a NEST 2 partner. (2,000 character limit)
