$15,000

Pelala's Song, a music composition for sextet, bridges folktales and jazz. Through vocal & instrumental music, this animal tale tells the story of unresolved identity. Pelala's Song looks at how disguises are worn by communities struggling for visibility, advancement and dignity, and celebrates the importance of living authentically.

Terry is a woman of color. She wears a pink scarf on her shoulder below the violin she plays.
