Blood Baby is an iterative performance project exploring intersections of queer motherhood/parenthood, gestation, gender performance, queer sexuality, and belonging. Involving site-responsive dance installation, experiential sculpture, collective readings, somatic workshops, and queer/artist parent convenings, Blood Baby is a multi-faceted unpacking of queer family experience, woven together by a queer creation story by playwright Sylvan Oswald. Made in collaboration with Oswald, Michèle Steinwald as dramaturg, and fiber artist Jesse Harrod, Blood Baby is supported by the Kinsey Institute (research), Chocolate Factory (residency), and premieres in 2022-23 at Velocity Dance Center.
Estimated Artist Fee: $5,100-7,500/performance; $16,000-22,000/week.
