Chicago’s Manual Cinema has vaulted to the forefront of the national theater scene with a uniquely captivating fusion of puppetry, live music, and the making of ‘live’ cinema in real time and space. Employing up to ten actors and puppeteers with nearly as many overhead projectors, the performers create a movie that is filmed and mixed in real time. For 2018, Manual Cinema debuts a new work titled The End of TV, in which they look half-nostalgically at a time when TV was new and offered untold mystery and adventure.
