The Idea Swap is an annual event for New England-based nonprofit presenting organizations to network and share project ideas that may qualify for funding from NEFA’s Expeditions grant program.

Share Your Project Idea

Participants may post and browse project ideas online and/or present at the Idea Swap.  

PRESENT AT IDEA SWAP 

Projects presented at Idea Swap are chosen from the posts in NEFA's Idea Swap section on MatchBook.org. The deadline to post your project idea is October 22, 2012.

  • Visit www.MatchBook.org and click "search classifieds" on the right-hand side of the screen.
  • Select "post a classified" and add your idea to the "NEFA's Idea Swap" category.

BROWSE PROJECT POSTS 

  • Visit www.MatchBook.org and click "search classifieds" on the right-hand side of the screen.
  • Select the category "NEFA's Idea Swap" and browse what others have posted. 

Idea Swap Schedule (revised 11.7.12)

10:30AM–11:00AM     Registration Opens: Coffee and networking (Main Hall)
     (Note revised start time due to weather forecast.)

11:00AM–11:30AM     Overview of NEFA’s Expeditions Program

11:30AM–11:45AM     Break

11:45AM–1:00PM     Project Presentations: Ten to fifteen project ideas are selected in advance for five-minute presentations at the Idea Swap. These projects are chosen from the posts in NEFA's Idea Swap classifieds section on MatchBook.org.

1:00PM–2:15PM      Lunch

2:15PM–3:00PM       Mini Swaps: Participants will break out into small groups to informally discuss project ideas based on the disciplines of music, dance, and theater. These small forums will allow a larger number of attendees to share their project ideas in quick, 2-3 minute succession.

3:10PM–3:45PM       Project Presentations: Ten to fifteen project ideas are selected in advance for five-minute presentations at the Idea Swap. These projects are chosen from the posts in NEFA's Idea Swap classifieds section on MatchBook.org.

3:45PM-4:00PM       Wrap-up

PARKING
There is limited on-street parking available. The nearest parking lots are on Waldo Street, Exchange Street, Central Street and Main Street, and the Elm Street Garage.

Visit www.MatchBook.org and click "search classifieds" on the right-hand side of the screen.
Select the category "Carpool to NEFA's Idea Swap" to browse what others have posted and get in touch with potential car poolers. OR select "post a classified" and add your post to the “Carpool to NEFA’s Idea Swap” category. 

Hotel

NEFA has set aside a room block at the Hilton Garden Inn for the nights of November 7 and 8. Rate is $144 per night. When you call, mention New England Foundation for the Arts to get the negotiated rate. For more information, call the hotel at 508-753-5700 or visit their website.
