Grants

For artists

  • Enable artists to create projects of all disciplines that take place in the public realm in the city of Boston and that integrate public participation into the artistic process and/or presentation.
  • Provide funds for creation and U.S. touring of artist-led, ensemble, devised projects. These grants are highly competitive and are awarded to approximately six projects annually.
  • Transition Grants are awarded to NTP Creation & Touring Grant recipients to support continuity for ensembles following the completion of touring.

Programs

  • Creative City grants enable artists to create projects of all disciplines that take place in the public realm in the city of Boston and that integrate public participation into the artistic process and/or presentation.

  • Expeditions grants support New England nonprofit organizations to plan and implement tours of high-quality arts projects involving New England, national, and international artists. 

  • The National Theater Project (NTP) promotes the development of artist-led, ensemble, and devised theater work while extending the reach and life of these projects through touring.

  • New England States Touring (NEST) provides support to New England-based nonprofit organizations for public presentations and activities by New England artists listed on the CreativeGround directory.
